Questions

Questions people ask

If yours is not here, call the front desk. A son or daughter may call for you.

Do I need a referral?

In Pennsylvania, you can start with an evaluation by a physical therapist without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one, and Medicare needs a physician or other practitioner to sign your plan of care. Call us and we will check yours.

Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?

Yes, we bill Medicare, and we bill many other kinds of plans. Your plan decides what it pays. We check your benefits and call you before your first visit.

What if I pay myself?

We give you a written estimate before your first visit, and you pay for each visit on the day. If your plan may reimburse you, we give you a detailed receipt to send in.

How long is a visit, and who treats me?

The first visit takes about an hour. Later visits are shorter. One of our four physical therapists treats you at every visit.

How many visits will I need?

That depends on what we find, what you want to be doing, how you respond and what your plan covers. We go over it with you as we go.

What should I wear and bring?

Comfortable clothes and flat shoes that close, your cards, your glasses and hearing aids, and the walker or cane you use.

Will it hurt?

We work within what you can do, and you can stop whenever you like. Some soreness after new exercise can happen. Tell us how it feels.

Can someone come with me?

Yes. A daughter, a son or a spouse is welcome at every visit. There is a seat for them in the gym.

Do you offer video visits?

No. We see people in person, at the clinic or at home.

What if I cannot get to the clinic?

We make visits at home in the towns around Scranton. Medicare Part B can cover outpatient PT at home if you are not getting home health at the same time. Ask the front desk whether your town is on the list.

Still have a question?

Call the front desk, or send a message and we will call you back.
